When I met you in the restaurant
You could tell I was no debutante
You asked me what's my pleasure
A movie or a measure?
I'll have a cup of tea and tell you of my dreaming
Dreaming is free
I don't want to live on charity
Pleasure's real or is it fantasy?
Reel to reel is living rarity
People stop and stare at me We just walk on by - we just keep on dreaming
Feet feet, walking a two mile
Meet meet, meet me at the turnstile
I never met him, I'll never forget him

Dream dream, even for a little while
Dream dream, filling up an idle hour
Fade away, radiate

I sit by and watch the river flow
I sit by and watch the traffic go
Imagine something of your very own
Something you can have and hold

I'd build a road in gold just to have some dreaming
Dreaming is free
Dreaming
Dreaming is free
Dreaming
Dreaming is free

  • CBGB= The Ramones,Talking Heads, Blondie, Bad Brains thats all you need to Know Fuck MTV and Fuck The Radio thank god they havnt runied any of this classic stuff

  • @itsabingo You have a point, but I discovered Blondie old school style. On the radio. Didn't know what she looked like, didn't care. The songs were great. Back in the day your music had to stand on it's own, it wasn't as dependent on image and all of that other bullshit. That's why most of today's music won't stand the test of time. Of course this is an old fart talking, but that's my opinion.

  • @tiarahalo1 This is my favorite Blondie song as well

  • agreed.

  • @ahhhitsrob Your right that it was about this time when image started being at the forefront. Blondie definately benefitted from being good looking, but I was never into the MTV thing so image wasn't a factor. I either liked the song or not. And image doesn't make a song resonate and stand the test of time.

  • @czerepification I would disagree. this is early 80s and that's when the glam bands started and they were all about image.

  • I meant if. Don't type well. Can you tell??

  • I always loved the echo on the vocal. I always liked Debbie Harry. Kinda pretty too id memory serves. Oh heck! She was a REAL looker!!!

  • adverts are starting to take the piss now

  • Good ol' stuff!

  • My fav Blondie song

  • If your head isn't bobbing to this; your dead. RIP.
