J. Jay Smith is the Director of Music/Organist at The Presbyterian Church, Flemington, NJ. He is a graduate of Westminster Choir College, where he studied organ and Church Music. This performance is from the March 20, 2011 Central New Jersey Chapter of the American Guild of Organists Members' Recital held at the Princeton University Chapel (4-manual Mander organ).
Norman Landis, AAGO (1873-1956) . A native of Carlisle, Pennsylvania, Landis received his musical education in New York City, where he attended the Metropolitan College of Music. From 1894 to 1896, he studied organ with R. Huntington Woodman (one of the founding members of the American Guild of Organists), piano with Caia Aarup and H. W. Greene, and composition with Harry Rowe Shelley and Dudley Buck. In 1896, Landis assumed the position of Organist-Choirmaster at The Presbyterian Church of Flemington, NJ, and retained that post for sixty years, until his death in 1956. Active as a composer throughout his life, Landis's musical output includes approximately 125 organ and choral compositions. Unfortunately, only two of his compositions were published

It's a Skinner organ 1928 opus 656- Aeolian-skinner organ 1954 opus 956-B. N.P. Mander restored it in 1991 back to its original E.M. Skinner romantic sound. I still think it sounds like a skinner organ as it should!
