i would recommend softer mallets and roll slower so that the sound of the marimba comes out. Is the music that you have a variation from the older because it sounds different. And try to be more expressive in the music. and cool grip i want to learn that!

yeah, and make sure you don't murder the slow section. =)
i'll be posting a video of one of my run throughs in a few months... i'm about 7 pages into learning it right now, i'd love some criticism from you, someone who has past experience with this solo.

i like seeing someone else use the traditional grip for once, but you do seem a bit inexperienced with it. work on your technique and it will make the sound quality better. use softer mallets, and express it more, there are a few dynamics written in, but make some of your own phrasing as well, in the roll section as well as the fast parts.

Good Job! May want to consider softer mallets and a little more expressiveness in the middle melodic section. Not sure how old you are, but if you are HS, outstanding job and keep up the hard work?

Watch out on some of the rolls, they're marked sfz. make sure after the initial accent you get down enough to really build it back up.
