Jams, comma, tasty, is the order of the day here at Forbidden Planet. But not all jams are created equal. Some jams, like that which is Action Comics #6, are a mystery. I'm going to stop saying jams now. Are you reading this? Have any of the New 52s begun to feel stale, or are we just old and jaded?

There's always something to love when it comes to the other numbers 6: Detective Comics, Batwing, Animal Man, and Swamp Thing.

Of course all this is just the warm up to main feast: first course Fatale, second course three new Scott Snyder trades! For dessert: Jim Henson's A Tale of Sand!!

Plus, Alpha Girl and Magic the Gathering are also comics that exist.

Lastly, my apologies to the band Savlonic, who's name I misspelled in the credits and only just noticed because I have all the typing dexterity of a cave-fish.

  • BTW, what do you guys think of Action Comics #6's cover? Some folks in the store were weirded out by it. I on the other hand, actually liked it quite a bit, mostly because it's a cool looking monster.

  • I am still reading Action Comics, and I was enjoying the first 4 issues, but then they started this weird time travel story that was kind of confusing, and they started this without finishing the previous story arc. Next month we finally get to see more of the story from the first 4 issues, and hopefully that will be good

  • @madmandable Huh, interesting. Hopefully the time travel arc will come to a compelling conclusion, if they're gonna string us along like that.

  • It's true. Everything Scott Snyder writes IS gold. Plus he seems a really good guy. I guess that's what they always say about the serial killer before he goes off. When Snyder loses it his comics will be evidence that it was planned.

I forgot all the questions but no I'm not still buying Action Comics, I think Jeff Lemire -> JLD is good cos I like the art and characters now, not the writing. Also he's stopping Frankenstein so it's not really an extra book. I think that was all the Qs

  • @Rory426 Yeah, I think you got them all! sorry, we were just trying to spur some discussion. Anyway, if does seem Lemire has a knack for the more supernatural-ly books. Maybe it's a good thing to have one guy writing all of those sorts of books; it'll make tie-ins and crossovers a lot more fluid, I'd imagine.

  • @FPtransmissions It's an alright cover. I don't love it or hate it, it's pretty meh, like the comic IMO.
