Do you have the canopy front and sides cut out for more air flow?

@pencon61 : Hi there :-) Here are the mods done to it, hope it helps:

Winshield cut out

side windows cut out (front only-NOT canopy itself)

2 cheater holes just in front of the fan intake on fuselage side under wing - dimensions where from memory about 60mm x 30mm, cut in a tear drop shape. looks pretty neat and nobody ever noticed - huge difference in thrust though. Intake lip is pretty important too: slice, feed in like a key ring and CA in place :-) CofG forward a bit and double throws.:)

Hi Pencon, sorry for the late reply. The MiG-21 from HET is only one of 2 things..either an outrightdog out of the box, or a mighty fine machine with a few 0$ mods. I had in both of mine a HET 2W-18..but the 20 is fine. First thing..please disregard HET's CofG, and throws..they are rubbish. If you in doubt, use HET's control throws on low rates (you have almost no control), and about 20-25mm on aileron/elevator mix, and CofG forward..its deadly tail heavy by the book.

hey malcolm I just bought the sme kit. Does the fan seem to get enough air? I got the typhoon 2w-20/6904 4s 75A package and I hope it's not a dog. Did you have to put cheater holes in and if so where did you put them in ?

How do you like the 2w-18 motor? Does it get hot in your setup?

Very nice flight and very good cameraman (not very easy job...).

i like the the mig21 from hetrc and yours flight perfectly.
