@josecuc the reality is though, that most of the people who claim to be "Palestinians" don't have some great extensive centuries old claim to the land between the med and the Jordan river. Israel has barren underdeveloped and sparsely populated. The majority of Muslims who claim to be "Palestinians" only arrived with the first waves of Zionist immigration because the Jews from Europe introduced modern technology and created new jobs and because places like Cairo were overcrowded.

Wars are never pleasant. It is completely unreasonable to expect that any large conflict could be undertaken using only 'acceptable' tactics. If war itself is a crime, then the concept of a war-crime is redundant. Ergo, to claim that either side is less deserving of the land due to their respective war crimes is a completely pointless statement. The fact of the matter remains that Israel repeatedly won against the Arabs, so their nation became and remained a reality.

Britain might have been imperialist but what has that got to do with the right of jews to their ancient homelands in the Land of Israel?

Britain tried most of the time to keep jews out of Israel and supported the arabs with training, funds and equipment. Read TE Lawrence if you want more information of how Britain bought arab favours with gold.
