The mid 1970s were a great time for Monster Kids if you lived in the New York / New Jersey area. You had Creature Features on WNEW Channel 5 and Chiller on WPIX Channel 11.
Chiller showed a lot of low budget 1950s monster flicks, and I remember at Christmas time in 1975 watching 2 films Frankenstein Daughter one week and a few weeks later one I had never seen before The Killer Shrews.
There were no VCRs or DVRs back then, so I decided to try to re-create a presentation of what one of those broadcasts was like. Since its the holiday season, and I remember seeing the film at Christmas time, I have included quite a few Christmas themed commercials. This re-creation is not entirely accurate, but I think it will give the viewer a taste of what one of those shows was like back in the mid-70s.
So for those of you interested, sit back for the next hour and a half and enjoy
CHILLER THE KILLER SHREWS
This was Meryl's finest performance.

"Doc, I'm not going to worry about overpopulation yet" is smooth-talk for, "Doc, I'm gonna get it on with your daughter."

Has anyone seen the Australian television series 'We Can Be Heroes' (or 'The Nominees", as it was known outside Australia)? One of the characters in the show was planning to roll across central Australia in a "dingo (wild dog) proof cage." Last night, when I saw this movie on 'The Schlocky Horror Show' on TVS, i was reminded of that character when I saw the end of this movie!
