  • puertopensee, McLaren supports democratic control over the means of production, against control of the means of production by an oligarchy. Revolutionary critical pedagogy promotes an expansion of the democratic public sphere, beyond the current "bread and circuses" showbiz elections which currently occupy the attention of the public to the extent that the public is allowed to see politics at all. McLaren and friends, then, wish to make democracy meaningful.

    That's not "tyranny."

  • Peter McLaren = One of the smartest men in the world today

    Hasta la Victoria Siempre !

  • McLaren is a true innovator, a truth teller. A true revolutionary. Viva Che, viva McLaren

  • Can't anyone see that what McLaren calls critical pedagogy is actually "critical against the capitalist establishment for the creation of a socialist state" pedagagogy. That, my freinds, is not critical. It is political indoctrination and is a form of tyranny if teachers subscribe to it. I believe in critical pedagogy, but men like McLaren pervert it.
