CHANCER (1998.) 10 mins. NB: Contains strong language and scenes of drug use.
Writer, director, producer Andrew Crawford and starring Mathew Bowyer. This goes back quite a few years now and was the first piece of film I tried on really basic kit. Initially an exercise in what might be achievable with a digital video camera, one actor, one location and no budget. Filmed in a squat in central London, it is a not entirely serious, ten minute insight into one man's self justification of the suicidal game he plays through his over inflated ego and lack of common sense.
A no budget piece involving one actor, a cool friend of mine called Mathew Bowyer, one location and one camera it was screened at festivals around the world and won best film at Milan International Short Film Festival (1998) and 'Reel to Reel' short film festival (1998) in Glasgow.
The character later became the basis for a no budget feature film called Lost Contact. which got made and can be seen here on Love Film...
