Yearling ep 01 - First Encounter_part 1 of 3

The Yearling anime series from 1983. English dub. Based on Pulitzer prized novel of the same name from Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings, this series is widely considered to be one of the lost pearls of anime. I have about 40 episodes of the total of 52 and I intend to upload all of them in random order. Every episode will be loaded in three segments, each of them about 8 minutes. Many of these episodes come from old VHS and 16mm tapes and are reduced here to accommodate web viewing, so please don't mind quality issues too much. 27 episodes out of 40 I own have finnish subtitles, please don't mind that too much either :)

This series is my personal favorite and I feel it has been wrongly neglected far too long. That's why I decided to share these eps with you all.

I agree, raw version (meaning original japanese version here) would be pretty sweet. Unfortunately it seems to be extremely rare, just like this english dub. If I ever get my hands on it, I will post it for sure. In general I'm interested in all possible dubs of this series.

Thank you so much for posting. Any idea who did this dub? It was very rare for a series this old to be translated to English, and done so well.

As far as I know, the english dub for this series was done in Australia. By which company, I'm not sure. But you can see the names of english voice talents at the end of part 3 of 3 of this episode.

thank you very much for uploading this, i looked for these before, but was sad not to find any, i used to watch everyday at 5 a.m. when i wake up with my 4 year old daughter like 8 years ago, we both enjoyed watching it, even got me to tears. now my daughter is not with me anymore, at least i got something to remember while i watch this again.. thanks and God bless you!
