A-4C mission - Linebacker operation, 1963

This film depicts a typical A-4 Skyhawk sortie during the first years of the Vietnam conflict.
During Operation "Linebacker 1", 1963, the USN and USAF went after "useless" targets like warehouses, in a vain hope to force the North Vietnamese government to the negotiation tables.
This is a virtual impression of what those sorties looked like.
Sit in the cockpit of an A-4C from the "Ghostriders", taking off from the USS Oriskany for a "typical warehouse bombing".

in this game, mig 17 and 19 should carry 2 Vympel K-13 missiles and mig 21 a maximum of 4

instead, migs 17 and 19 carry not missiles at all and 21 only 1 pair :\

I never heard of the MiG-17 carrying air to air missiles (except for the very latets versions - which the Vietnamese didn't possess...). The 21 does carry one pair, as it's the standard loadout. I think this game does represent well the era. For even more detail you should buy the Yankee Air Pirate add on (paid add on). You'll be surprised... ;-)

Flew many hours in the A4C, the first years of the war the plane flew most of the missions to the north. it was a great strong plane.

yes youre right. but i think this game is good, but quite unbalanced in favour of the yanks. for example, no one of the mig has radar. even the first version of 21 should have one telemetric radar.

same thing of wings over europe. the best aircraft of warsaw pact is the Flogger, but migs 25, 29 and 31 should be in service. still, no mig carry radar.. and migs 17, 19, 21 should carry more missiles.

im searching for a mod for this problem
