"The World Is Waiting For You ( South of The Border ) " is the final song on the album...."Where Did All The Money Go" by Baby on Wes Farrell's "Chelsea Records " in 1976......
Baby was a huge band from Texas & probaly one of the most famous bands in the South West in the mid 1970's......so much so, that their 1st self made album sold so well in Texas & the South West that major label Mercury Records signed Baby & decided to release the album in 1975 but, like most major labels, Mercury lost interest in Baby.....
In 1976, Chelsea Records decided to give Baby a try & released their 2nd album "Where Did All The Money Go" ( was Baby talking about Chelsea Records already or refering to Mercury Records ).....who knows....
In early 1977, Baby released the single only......"Fallen Angel / Baton Rouge " & the single was getting alot of top 40 airplay across America & starting to chart, but, at the time the British band The Babys was starting to get popular & the record buying public was confusing both bands & so The Babys sued Baby cause of the name & so Baby had no shot of success & then in early 1977 , Wes Farrell decided to fold Chelsea Records, so Baby was no more.........
please contact me if anyone has a copy of the Baby single.....Fallen Angel
Great song! I miss this heart-felt, naturalistic music. Thanks for posting.
