Amazing live version, you've got to love this guitar.
Not mine in any way, i'm just a fan
Lyrics:
These mist covered mountains, Are a home now for me.
But my home is the lowlands, And always will be.
Some day you'll return to, Your valleys and your farms.
And you'll no longer burn to be brothers in arms.
Through these fields of destruction, Baptisms of fire.
Witnessed you suffering, As the battle raged higher.
And though they did hurt me so bad, In the fear and alarm.
You did not desert me my brothers in arms.
There's so many different worlds, So many different suns.
And we have just one world, But we live in different ones.
Now the sun's gone to hell, yeah, She got the moon ridin´ high.
Let me bid you farewell, Every man has to die.
For it's written in the starlight, And every line on your palm.
We are fools to make war on our brothers in arms.
The best, aint it? Love, love Mark Knopfler. He is a true talent, eh> LOVE his guitar!

@simav8r Thank you very much for telling me. I have all six of DS studio albums, plus two live albums (Alchemy & On the Night), but I don't have this one ( Sultans Of Swing - The Very Best of Dire Straits.). Can't understand why I didn't buy it. (Maybe because I didn't know there are two discs in it and on the second disc are all live versions that I had not yet heard). My mistake. I am definitely going to the record store to right my wrong.:-)

@avidbookreader This version is from the bonus disc in the limited edition version of "Sultans Of Swing - The Very Best of Dire Straits". It was recorded at the Royal Albert Hall in 1996 during Mark's "Golden Heart" tour.

Incredible version. The sound of Marks guitar is simply too beautiful for words. Like several other versions of this song, it never fails to send shivers down my spine and bring tears to my eyes.
I can't explain it but to me this version doesn't seem like it's from DS' BiA era. It sounds more like it's from Marks earlier solo career. Close to "A Night in London concert" maybe? I listen to these two versions back to back and found some strong similarities between them. I could be wrong though.:)
