I can't bored Rory..I have watched a lot of different versions of his songs...

I agree, this one is much more soulful!
I need to listen to Rory, it is like getting fresh air when there is so much crap around

saw him in 1980.
These last performances are really depressing. It's like all the energy is gone. Where is all the brilliant lead heard on Irish Tour 74? He looks ill, terrible, he was on meds at this stage.
Even living with all this he still played live, a true musician. He lived for the music right to the end.
LEGEND!

Yeah, the last few concerts are heartbreaking alright

This has to be my favorite Rory song as well. However the early version is the one I studied and although it's very polished, I think this one is much more soulful.
Now he has lived a life and has experienced the ups and downs. He seems a million miles away in this version. The blues are really ringing through.
Thank you for the posting. I've been looking for a later version for a long time now.

Thanks for the comment Heather, while he always gave it everything i agree that this version is a bit more heart-felt maybe, i don't like how heavy his sound became though, this is probably one of the last live performances of it

man, he sure has changed over the years, so has the song.

Yeah his sound got far heavier alright as he went on, i don't like it as much as the original but it is always good to see a musician constantly work his own material, even twenty years later.
