i remember we had a clock that everytime the second hand got to the 2 if fell and swung back and forth between 8 and 4 then it stopped on 7 and kept on going.

@HighlandsHSman they just now put in digital clocks. last year they had battery operated clocks like in the middle school. but the new digital clocks work only in some rooms.

there is a clock in my school that looks like that one and its the only hallway clock in the entire building that works

That would most likely to be a problem with the master clock's minute contacts or the wiring to the external slave clocks.
This video looks like the time adjustment after a powercut or daylight savings.
