@mlc2005 Vanessa Riley was a LEGEND. Sally Stapleford too. These 2 ladies did not 'follow the herd' and marked accordingly. Used to love listening to the commentators. Sally was one of the few who gave Katarina Witt her deserved marks at Olympics 88. Had others placed Ito 2nd in the Free, then Liz Manley would have won Gold, and rightly so. Unfortunately, many on the panel dared not do such a thing.

Vanessa Riley still had him first, which was in step with how it should have been. I always thought that the British judges were overly pretentious in their marking.
