Via train #14 heads south on the CNR mainline at Beaverbrook,NB. @mileage 75. Running late again due to a slow speed order due to poor track bed , rail maintenance & upkeep.

  • Where i stood that day, many ties were only held in place by the weight on them. Many more ties along that line have rail spikes ready to pop out of the holes.Ties are sinking below the ballast as well.

  • Poor track? Well, it's CN after all. They barely maintain anything any more.

  • @kaizerzydeco Its quite a sad thing, The desire of CN is to forget this line and move freight on the west side of the province,There is very little industry left on the northshore & CN knows that so why maintain a line, cheaper & easier to let it fall apart.

  • So that'll explain why 14/15 was so slow through much of NB when I rode the train this past summer...
