. With a Shank Ham I simmer it (Depending on the size of the Ham) for One to Two hours in ( 2 cups of water, 2 liter bottle of 7up or Sprite soda, Carrots, Onions and Cloves). My question is if I soak the Country ham in 2-3 changes then simmer it for One to Two hours using my method. Will the HAM adsorb the flavors from the Soda, Carrots, Onions and CLOVES while simmering?
I guess the only way to find out is by trying it

in america, hams that come like that are called Country Hams, and are salted, brined, and smoked. this produces a ham that can be kept at room temperature for months without rotting. how ever, it is imperative to soak the ham in 2-3 changes of water to prevent it from being dangerously salty.
