Wind power is one of the fastest growing forms of alternative energy in the world. More and more, wind power mills are seen in the countryside, in large wind farms and for the most part, away from city life. But a new form of wind power is now designed to work in an urban environment. VOA producer Zulima Palacio has the story. Mill Arcega narrates.

Do not use $ per watt : use $ per kwh per year :: this wind turbine has a proven kwh per year of near ZERO :::

    Incorrect.

Big corporations are for the profit and profit only.

If this type of windmill design would be better that the typical 3 blade design, we would start to see these ones all around.

these type of technologies will never ever make it into the mass market... because the big corporations and big governments will never allow this to... sad but it is the reality...

Cite a source for that claim. Also keep in mind that wind turbine numbers are set to keep growing. Get back to me in 10+ years when they run out of places to not interrupt migratory bird routes. The idea that wind turbines can always be intelligently sited is bogus. There is only so much (windy) land you can put them on, and they are protested in most places where people live. It's just land-rape (like oil & gas) under a green badge.

Apparently VAWT designs can't match the efficiency of the big eyesore versions that are wrecking so many landscapes. Any way you cut it, Man is destroying nature every day.
