Welcome to Part Two of our Phrygian Masterclass Series. In this lesson, we'll be taking a look at modal progressions and we'll also take a look at the layout of seventh chord harmony relating to Phrygian mode. We'll begin with a close look at how a modal progression can be built from Phrygian Mode's triad harmony.

The complete lesson article for this video will be available on the Creative Guitar Studio website shortly. Follow me on Twitter for lesson posting announcements:

  • I have made two progressions in phrygian:

    F#m - A - Em7 - G6

    and

    Gm - Fm - Absus2 - Eb

  • @astralfarts ....

Hey dude, nice to meet you, Andrew has already done master-classes on the modes of:

    - Mixolydian

    - Lydian

    - Dorian

    - Phrygian (obviously)

Search his videos, I found you the Mixolydian one here:

  • if you feel like it, when you do another masterclass, could you focus on mixolydian?

  • thanks for the lessons man, really shows the real beauty of the scale. i've been so locked in to using it in metal so I forgot how good it really could sound in other styles.
