The Uganda Stomp by the Battered Wives

The former Toronto punk band, The Battered Wives, poke fun at Idi Amin (former Uganda President) in this 1978 tune entitled "The Uganda Stomp". This record is pressed on clear vinyl. The label is Bomb records. This band had a sense of humour but many took offense at their name so their name was changed to "The Wives" after this LP. The Turntable is a fairly rare NAD 5040. This made was before the days of Rega Planar being involved with the manuafacturing. It's looks are more impressive than the actual construction quality as this is an all plastic turntable made in Great Britain by rumoured BSR. Not really sure as little info is available. At any rate, it plays great. Enjoy!!

I remember the huge outrage back when this came out. Everyone thought the band name was a mockery of violence and they freaked out at them. Thanks for posting it. I haven't heard it since I had the album back then. :)
