This Choir Of Angels is a poetic look at human guilt and the conscience that walks with our every step. These haunting angels are contemporary and urban tormenting our drunken New York everyman, until one day he takes a stand. Written and voiced by actor Laurence Fuller with art work by Marcelle Hanselaar.

Laurence's Notes I first came up with the idea for this script whilst dealing with a particularly guity hang-over, as I thought of all those who were weighing on my conscience, those appearing without sin but with much judgement, I uttered the words 'I shall soon come to know this choir of angels', that was to be the phrase that consumed me for the next month as I worked intensively with Marcelle to create the right images to go with the script. My direction was ultimately; 'Think, you're work set in New York and maybe crossed with George Grozs' ink drawings on a bad day'. I've known Marcelle for some time and we've done one other project together, which was a documentary on her work, below;

"From what I have seen of the European art world Marcelle Hanselaar is one of the best. You will not find her works in the most obvious places, much to the loss of those institutions in Britain that have overlooked her work (with the exception of the British Museum who currently own a portfolio of Marcelle's prints Le Petite Mort). Much to the gain of collectors, for their sake I'm happy her works are what I consider affordable, but I have no idea why. This show is Marcelle's affirmation that she is of the very best in Europe and will be overlooked no longer. Baselitz has a firm contender for the role of a leading contemporary expressionist. I have no doubt in my mind that as Marcelle's collectors grow in number and influence you will see more of her work in institutions. Where the collectors go, the institutions will follow." -- Art Influence
This is the second collaboration between Marcelle Hanselaar and Laurence Fuller.
This work by Marcelle Hanselaar underpins again that she is one of Europe's most engaged artist reflecting on gender issues and perverted views that signify large parts of our society.
