@povkilla As stated in my comment, 'I still remember how scary it was living under the thread of M.A.D. (Mutally Assured Destruction). We know darned well how close we were to EVERYONE dying. It's FUNNY (NOT 'HAHA' FUNNY) but [by defintion of the word] 'Tricky or deceitful'. The song is lighthearted, but it masks the OTHER SIDE of the issue. And, BTW, if you think the definition of 'funny' is only 'causing laughter and amusement', then your assumptions are WRONG.

and think this is a satire on both back then and nowadays.
Although i disagree on that "russians arent the bad guys in US movies any more",

I live in a southeast Europe in a country that was socialist and even I get the sarcasm in this song. You are so uptight and lost in your political correctness that you don't understand that he is making a joke of people's need to look back in the past and think that it was better then. It' s the same thing no matter where you live, normal human reaction. People are afraid of the future and they always look back in the past because it looks safer and simpler.

To truly appreciate this song you would have to have lived through the threat of the USSR vs those we face today. This one is for us old farts. As a 50 something this is not funny or hilarious or tongue in cheek, or stupid. It's reflective. The PopeofNashville nailed it. I enjoyed listening to it, and remembering!
