Ronny performing this Michael Smith song with Karen Mal (mandolin/vocal) and Matt Margucci (accordion) at Crossroads Coffeehouse in Winnsboro Texas on June 9, 2006 recorded by Conrad Wolfman.
I first heard this song in 1993, at a Chicago concert where Anne Hills introduced her version from her new "October Child" release. I have loved it ever since. And while there are many versions out there, none does better justice to this beautiful love story than this one. Maybe it's due in part to the fact that I became a Ronny Cox fan back in the days of "Apple's Way" - long ago when we used to be young men. :-) The backstory to the song makes it even better. Thanks for posting this!!!
