  • Get up off that sofa & dig the Rockabilly sound. Excellent example of where Rockabilly is coming from & to think it was never played here in the Pacific North-West(Seattle/Vancouver).....what gives? Thx4 posting

  • Hi, was surprised to see my husband's first record he recorded at age 16 on Youtube! Harold Lee did also record on Columbia Records in the 60's & 70's and had several chart toppers with them. He also worked with Kenny Rogers, Dolly Parton, Willie Nelson, John Denver, George Jones & the list goes on as a recording engineer. I have the picture of HL that goes with this record when he was 16 also. He is an extremely talented man and the love of my life.

  • can i ask you how you knew harold?he was my uncle(my dad's brother).i almost fell over when i saw this.where did you get this 45?i would love to get one.did you know him from elmhurst or tennessee ?

  • yes sir ! 5 stars ! thnx for the good infos sambuckram.

  • you mean Why Must We Be So Young .. can do it. I knew Harold Lee Rekart, thats why I got one..

  • Where the heck did you find this. There were only about 500 pressed. Would you post the other side too? Thanks.

  • Self-produced at the height of payola, Chicago DJs said Harold sounded too much like Elvis and refused to play the song -- unless there was something in it for them. The only DJ who played it was on a small LaGrange station that could barely be heard outside a 20 mile radius. The kids called all night and requested the song. The DJ went on to fame. He was DIck Biondi. Harold Lee's career never went any further as a recording artist.

  • I "fell in love with" the local "star" when I was 11. We didn't get many stars in Elmhurst, especially "sophisticated" older men who drove fast cars. He was soooo much sexier than Elvis!

  • very interresting! Thank you ! Who are you knowing such things?
