Lace should put covers on the side of the pickups so you don't have that opening into the pickup cavity. That hole gives the pickup a feeling of not being very solid. Of course, the pickup is very sturdy but that's the perception that I get with the installed unit. Congrats on the revolutionary design. It might be just a little too far ahead of it's time.

Is the neck pickup a normal Alumitone or Deathbucker? As far as I know, you guys don't make a neck version of the DB and I would think by putting the same pickup in the neck, the output would be much louder than the bridge. Because of this, I'm thinking of buying a DB and normal Alumitone for the neck because I only have one master volume on my guitar. What say you Lace?

Definitely an interesting pickup for sure
Might have to buy one eventually just because of how unique it is

Sounds great - I really like the middle position sound. Doesn't sound too "heavy" too me, I mean that in a positive way - I think that it would be good for more than just one style of rock.
The neck pickup is a Deathbucker. However for the reason you mention, my personal taste leans toward a "normal" A-tone in the neck and the DB in the bridge. The combination plays well together. You are on the right track.
