@27showgirl RA is a great horse and Zenny may not have beaten the boys in the BCC last year but she came close and 19-20 wins and one very close 2nd is Amazing only man o' war the worlds legendary race horse even lost one. haha but im glad we agree queen Z is a beast!

Rachel A's owners where so appauled by her limitless talent, they forgot what she was. A 3 yo. filly. After the Woodward she was exhausted, and when they gave her a well deserved break they didn't condition her. Which resulted in her first two losses by the time of the Fleur Des Lis, she was getting back into shape. But when the Personal Enign came, she had to face one of the greatest mares of the year. She was swallowed up by a stretch duel.

@2138red I agree. Zenyatta was a beast and wasnt ready to start racing right away as a 3 year old. She would destroy rachel any day. Especially this year. Plus the 3 year olds and older males last year werent anywhere as close as good as the 2010 colts. You had Lucky, Blame, QR, Fly Down, Paddy, etc. I still like rachel but if she was that great then why dont they run her in the BCC? (Yes it was synthetic but who cares) Zenyatta could win on dirt, synthetic, pro ride, etc.

@queenluciaa so because queen Z's owners really LOVED her and didnt want her to race as a 3 year old and waited till she was really developed that proves that RA is better? give me a break. you better give a better reason then that because queen Z is beast!

I'm not going to get in an argument with you about Rachel Alexandra not being 'perfect' or lasting as long as Zenyatta did, but what that filly accomplished was more impressive than any of Zenyatta's single seasons. When Rachel was 3 she was dominating every class, older,younger, and her age. When Zenyatta was 3, she was relaxing in her stall, or playing in the pasture. She only had 2 races as a 3 year-old. As opposed to Rachels stunning 8.

John Henry, Red Rum, and Kelso where all America's sweethearts of the past. Including Barbaro and Smarty Jones. It seems like each year we have a new hero. Last year was Rachel's year, this year was Zenyatta's.
