tucker is a tool and matzzie is right - we broke vietnam - vietnam was actually more in the realm of a nationalist anti-colonial revolution with socialist-democratic tendencies - and we forced them to move towards more hard-core communism and their society to become very regimented and authoritarian in order to defeat their military enemy (us) in and the process destroyed all the elements that would favor the development of more democratic institutions
