@ThisGuyWithNoOpinion That actually makes a lot more sense. Thanks for clearing that up for me. But, I also noticed that a few of the main characters in Final Fantasy are named after things involving storms.

@YojimboAuron Tina as a name was unpopular with American audiences when the game was first tested. It's not a bland name for a person, it's a bland name for a video game character (according to the people who tested it). Terra was chosen as her name to contrast Celes, hence their names now mean respectively Earth-Terra, and Heaven-Celes. Square did this name-contrasting, earth-sky connotations too, with Cloud and Aerith, but that was much later.

@seemangalbj In all fairness, most of the ff games are shit. I didn't like 7 that much. IMO it's only popular because it was the first 3D ff and everyne shit their pants when it came out. That aside, X and VI were both stellar games - 8, and I never played 9. Those prior to 6 make me shudder though. Too much fucking grinding for levels.

It seems like everyone here hates every final fantasy before X. I like the ones from IX and up the most, though the other ones are still fantastic.
