  • Fram filters are crap.

  • You are so right! The filter for this video thumbnail pic is actually Wix. I notced the difference in quality and that's what I use now. What's your preference?

  • Well i live in Europe so we have also some different manufacturers.

But i like the filter from Mann Filter that they sell here at the local auto-parts store it looks very similar as your Wix filter.

But Fram (Honeywell) are real crap if you look around here on youtube you will find a lot of problems whit the Fram filters.

  • I have seen some filter reviews, not good for Fram. Fram.... Never again!

  • that filter and oil was ready to change... and filter looks like its hasnt been changed seein as how its damaged and with gm cars follow the monitor system it works im a gm mehanic

  • That's how the filters look when I use Fram filters. I started using Wix and they look much better when they come out. You say it's O.K. to follow the monitor. Just wondering about a comment I got from someone. His GM dealer had told him to change oil at 3,000 miles cause the crud can mess up your timing. Is that somehow possible?

  • MudRfunr, It's fine keeping using that GM oil life montior. I ask another chevy dealership they said it's fine so keep doing what you been doing with oil change on malibu your fine don't change it by KM change it when oil life montior say so MudrFunr. I am going to be doing the same as you Mudrfunr.

  • MudrfunR you here that you can mess up your timing if you on 7,000 miles oil changes. That guy chrismane2009 said so. He is a Gm mechanic.

  • Does this happend also on malibu does the timing get mess up if go 7000 miles on oil changes.

  • yes it is very possible, especially on buick enclaves and the other vehicles in that family.. the reason being people go 7000 plus miles without changing the oil, and what happens is the oil is used up and when theres no lube on those chains they begin to stretch. the end result will be a motor drop and adding new timing chains gaskets and resealing the front cover.

  • Thanks John!
