I think (and I know a lot of people are probably going to disagree with this) the term "classic" when used towards Disney movies is actually only relative. (especially since most of them only just came out during the 80's and 90's and it's mostly used towards the "princess movies", but that doesn't mean they aren't as good as everyone claims they are)
The only real problem I have with everyone who throws around the term "classic" is they tend to leave out a lot of the other animated Disney movies, and though maybe not all of them are for everyone, they're still all classics in their own way.

Set to "Alive Again" by Matt Maher.
All clips belong to Disney, and I tried to use as many different traditionally animated movies as I could. (some of them are thrown very quickly in at the end, unfortunately)

  • I agree with that. Most people think that the princesses and the Pixar movies are the best to ever come from Disney. but, I disagree. It's what we grew up with. Movies like The Black Cauldren and Robin Hood. those movies had a big impact yet, most hadn't heard or seen them. I like the disney movies of today but, there too predictable. The older one's used to always surprise me.

Yeah, and actually it's kind of sad that that's the way it is. I remember when I was little my family had a rule when we went to the library to get movies that every time we had to get one Disney movie and it couldn't be one we've seen, so through that I was introduced to a lot of amazing Disney classics... and some not so good live action movies.

  • @lemongreen yeah disney's talents lie in animated films. the Pirate movies were awesome! but not many other Disney live action are really good. That sounds like a good rule. and fun. Movies like, UP and Monster's Inc. can't compare with, The Fox and the Hound, or The Jungle Book. Whats so wrong with making animtated films anymore anyways? must it ALL be computer animated? it's ok but, not every single movie.
