  • So HuntercJackson -- You think businesses always run things perfectly? Businesses like GM, AIG, Bear Stearns, Enron and Fannie Mae, for example?

And the government would not be running the hotel as you say. Omni (a private business) will do that. The city would just own the building...same way it owns the airport (but doesn't fly the planes).

Government need not be huge but owning a convention center hotel right next to a convention center is a smart business investment.

  • I'm proud of you Dallas.

  • Vote YES on 1. The projections of any profit are completely unrealistic and the Dallas taxpayer will carry the burden. [However, a few local event planners, nearby facilities, caterers and taxi companies will make a little more money from the occasional convention.] These folks are severely uninformed about the long term impact of this debt on our city's operational infrastructure.

  • I will vote yes because I think the city of Dallas is terrible at running things. Every time I go down to the city of Dallas for permits they do a terrible job. I dont want our tax money going to fund a government run hotel. We need to encourage businesses not bigger government. Id rather encourage businesses to grow and stimulate economic growth from the people.

  • The Convention and Trade Show industry is a $100 billion dollar industry. Show Organizers and Convention Panners consider Dallas 2nd or Third tier options because there is not a Hotel connected to the convention center.

  • The blatantly selfish and immoral attempt to buy this election makes me sad. Dallas should not be forced to suffer because of one man's deep pockets. I'm glad RIP finally put out a video with a bit of substance informing the public to this injustice.

VOTE NO on Prop 1 and 2
