These lucky Paiute horses, rescued from slaughter last December, were released onto Mustang Monument: Wild Horse Eco-Sanctuary land on 6/2/11. It was an emotional moment for all involved.

  • This is awesome. The video was a little shaky and off target but we understand it's hard to film when you're crying with joy. Also Madeleine will have control over these horses and can let them have foals as necessary to be sustainable and genetically viable . I know she can get more wild horses from folks not able to keep them too. Too bad the BLM didn't allow her to get any but without their control she can have a real rescue and sanctuary.

  • I've been following you and I'm so Happy to see this dream come true for everyone, and these horses are so special in our history. It's a Great Day that should never be forgotten.

  • What the video lacks in technical quality it makes up for in spirit. However, next time need a tripod and good camera person to memorialize the moment. :-)

  • Can you work with the Water Conservatory to keep more lands for wild Mustangs? They take court action and have had success in keeping some lands for wildlife, including wild horses. This is wonderful that you have saved these, also!

  • Breathtaking - beautiful wonderment. Whoever disliked this is an idiot

  • such a beautiful, beautiful sight .. GOD BLESS YOU!!

  • What a truly, magnificent sight. Its enough on its own to restore one's faith in mankind, to know that there are guardian angels looking out for our precious heritage even if the BLM disagree. Long may they run free and wild, long may they run into the wind, in peace.

  • It is not right that they slaughter horses (or any animals) for human consumption...this is why I'm vegan. Thank you for saving them!

  • THIS is so WONDERFUL!

  • After 2010, with Calico, Twin Peaks, Tuscarora, Sliver King, Tonopah, Goshute, Eagle, Antelope etc. and the hundreds of dead mustangs, not knowing what happened at Owyhee and the government gearing up for a new season of terror, something like this comes along .

For once, wild horses were not being killed or interred in a small area here in Nevada.

When the camera swung around to show the horses running out of the enclosure, I burst into tears. What hope. Thank you Ms. Pickens.

  • After all the phone calls to legislators to request halt the roundups, visiting rescued wild horses, signing petitions left and right, protesting, and like so many activists, working hard to tell everyone we know -into the wee hours of the night- about the fate of wildhorses, it is truly a blessing to watch this video. Beautiful, majestic wildhorses living.... as they should be. Thank you so very much for sharing it. Splendid, splendid work!
