Ilyas´s performance of Rachmaninoff sounds great to me. But, I still prefere another brilliant pianist that playies Rachmaninoff so remarkably; Dubravka Tomsic on Piano Concert nr. 2 . It´s simply wonderful !!

Beautiful phrasing. Great rythmic timing. Total freedom. This is the one and only recording that matches the "grandeur" of Rachmaninoff's own recording. Thank you Ilya!!!!

I disagree completely. there is no sense of speed in this performance: just gorgeous melodic line, passionate spontaneity, and total mastery of the instrument. This is pure genius. I wept.

cant do something against me...but I dont like his fast tempo...in my view when you play such pieces so fast you'll play them not in "full" version. something will be missing...some amazing moments.
