I met Nunzio at my favourite joint in Camden - The Inspiral Lounge (one of the few places in London where you can eat food that is good for you and made with love) He produces great art, some of which you can see at

http://www.thecolourkid.com/

He had just completed a 10 day silent retreat (vipassana) and I asked him about it.

Som of you will be a bit bothered by what I do here, but Nunzio welcomed the chalenge...

  • I swear, I could not last for 10 days without masturbating.

Another thing: my perception is that in this video Danny has risen to a new level of being pedantic, condescending and rude to the person being interviewed. Maybe he purposely tried to get a rise out of this person or challenge their patience (which is a virtue).

Yes, I read the description, and still want to express this.

  • @CleverDjembe He is trying to get the interviewers story. He wants the truth, he was merely getting the interviewers story without the interviewer generalising to other people or making assumtions on behalf of other people. Therefore making it a truth or what he feels inside, not making random assumptions on how other people are pecieving the world because nobody can know

  • @DayTripperEqualsHomo whoops =- that last one was meant for celeverdjembe

  • @CleverDjembe Actually I've been thinking about your point about being condescending

and rude and noticed that a feeling of defence came up so very quickly

and I immediately responded to your post. That immediate response caused me to tell an untruth - I didnt prime him before the interview but he made it clear form teh start that he was ok with my technique.

  • @CleverDjembe after further thought i realised that it could be that I was being condescending which to me means that somehow I thought that I was better than him which is a very

human way of being and I am not free from that way of being and I

think it's good for me to be exposed as just as faulty as anyone else

and if you think that I was bad there you should see me when I've lost

my cool at home with the kids. I would be very embarassed for that to be on Youtube.

  • ever

  • one of my favourite interviews

  • Actually watching this video i realized something, that i also do this, i say we, you etc, I thought why do i do this, possibly i think im like everyone else and share common experiences, thoughts, emotions and using we, and you, makes me feel like im part of something more than just myself. But i also think by doing this i take no responsibility i take no ownership of me, thankyou for this vid, it has made me aware of something i do, yes me, thankyou.

  • @lukebolger101 what makes you say that? :)

  • utter BS

  • @MajestyOvTheNightSky

Thinking back now, I may have come across harshly even though I didn't intend to.

  • @Tallaias

    Thanks. I appreciate your politeness.

  • @CleverDjembe this man is not coming from a place of contempt therefore you should not judge his actions harshly.

  • A very long time ago what we said was our bond, our honour was bound to the use of the word, it was recognised for its actual weight and power. Now we just talk, we barely have any awareness of the power, meaning or effect what we SAY has. We take no responsibility. We lie constantly to ourselves and each other.

Talking about our own experience in third party language is a cop out.

Using first party means we own it, we shine the light on ourselves.

    I misuse the word mercilessly.

    Pedantic on.

  • @lotekjunky Yes! I've noticed that a lot, for example people say "We won WW2". No, you were not alive then, and it was the United Kingdom that won it, not "you"
