The illegal timber trade is destroying the earth's last remaining tropical forests, with devastaing consequences for both native communities and the global environment. As this testiomony points out, the illiegal timber trade is driven by demand for tropical hardwood lumber products right here at home - we in the US need to get our act together and demand that our government do its part to stop illegal timber imports.
