"Got the Funky Fever" performed live by The Eric Burdon Band in September, 1971 at the Whiskey a Go-Go in L.A., USA. They performed every Monday there around this time to check out what the people like. They played some brand new songs.

Jimmy Witherspoon appeared at the concert later. They recorded the album "Guilty!" (or "Black and White Blues"), released in 1971, after Burdon left "War".

After the colloboratio with Witherspoon, the band went on to record. Their album "Stop" was fastly recorded, but not released until August 1975.

This is one of the last Eric Burdon performances before he stepped into the scariest musical career, ever. The albums, the films, the books, his complete work did not release for long, because of his management(s), the record label/legal problems.

Although he released two albums in 1980, recorded a new album and starred in the film wth the same name, Comeback. Both released in 1982, when he recorded the album "Nightwinds Dying" (released in 1998). He pleased big halls/stadiums/clubs, but he had many career problems.

In 2004, after unbelievable trouble, he signed with SPV and released "My Secret Life". Since then he released a string of new and old albums. Since 2007 he's recording new songs. In January 2009 he performed with his new band. He's touring USA and Europe in the next months.

  • this is definately John Sterling. I should know, I was there...onstage. why? something wrong with the solo? notice the overdub double solo on the end with the echoplex...

  • I don´t think John Sterling was playing on this gig. The guitar on the studio album track is so much powerful and intense.

  • increible version...emocionante

  • GREAT POST! THANKS 4 SHARING!
