This is how the song should be sung. It's from a musical. Plus, her voice is much more clear and her vibrato is more stable.

Wonderful! Absolutely love her!I Sung this to my now 11yr old son every night until he was in grade school. Such tender memories of time gone by. When he hears is now, he wonders why he knows it so well. <3

I love this song so much, haven't stopped singing it since I saw Andrew Lloyd Webber's birthday bash from Royal Albert Hall...Doe anyone know where I can buy this, I have tried for many years. I Think Lottie Mayer has a beautiful voice, this performance was magnificent and bone chilling for me.

Why oh why did she give up singing and lower herself to the point of utter embarrassment and become a presenter on Create and Craft and Ideal World? What a real pity. Gorgeous voice and gorgeous looking! Come back to singing Lottie!

I saw this special when it origionally aired and only ONE word comes to mind when I see and hear this brilliant performance by Lottie Mayor & Maestro Andrew Lloyd Webber and that word is.........Perfection.

Pure perfection!

This clip from the Anniversary show brought me so much joy as a child. I am thrilled and happy to see that others enjoy it as well.

Perfection is wonderful to see and hear.

@pmcmusik I think the idea is that "howl" is more passionate that in your case "sing" which is the point of the song. expressing and living the sentiment of the moment.
but you just bottle that up.

It's a beautiful thing, ain't it?
Someone may have answered this already, but was this song done twice at the 50th birthday party? In the playlist here,Tina Arena sings this, but when I saw this on TV I remember this being sung by Lottie Mayor (whose rendition I enjoy much better).

@pursehappygal Yes, this song was sung twice in two different styles. It was sung at the begining of the show by Tina Arena as a poweful ballad, and as seen here by Lottie. Lottie sang it here as she sang it in the West End show, as Sir Lloyd Webber had intended. I agree with you, that Lottie's version was much nicer than Tina's.
