Oh those beautiful black churches of the pastoral south, the haunting ,hair-raising vocal of the choir pleading for salvation has left an indelible imprint in the sands of time. The marvelous melodies ringing as true as a bell emanating from the holy house has made the helpless congregation free to sour high in the sky of hope even as they and their church are trapped in the bosom of evil. The wailing souls beseeching help from above that never came is so heart wrenching.I salute yor memry

i was only 7 when burt died in 1994. i didn't think too much of it until i saw this and from here to eternity. he really did deserve this oscar. R.I.P. BURT LANCASTER!
