  • It's Puk Puk, not Poop Poop. Small gravel strip in High Range.

  • Thanks

  • Good canadian made aircraft but too old for our army but great history, his brother the DHC-5 buffalo ( who look same but more powerfull ) still used in canadian airforce ( Nunavutt )

  • The RAAF wants to replace the Caribous with either the EADS CASA C-295 or the Alenia C-27J. Madness!!! I doubt either has the STOL ability of a Caribou :(

  • really cool plane sad that the raaf retired the old girl

  • In 1971-72, I used to watch these flying in and out of Lae airport, in New Guinea. My workshop door looked out on the threshold at the inland end of the runway, so I saw everything that used the airport. The Caribous always surprised me with their short take-off run.

  • near line creek

  • yeah remember taken off from that strip star

  • the CASA C-295 was a option for Nunavut, but the DHC-5 still good, and build for resist. I know the CC-130 herucul ( first model ) are changed for the CC-130J super hercule

  • amazing
