  • These guys are the best, they can be compared to quartets like Cathedrals or Stamps. The bass is great

  • Harold does a mind blowing imitation of J.D. in Peace in the Valley... I saw them in concert in Pigeon Forge. They are awesome.

  • This must be his George Younce imitation :-)

  • Yes that is Brion Carter. He went from being the youngest member of the group at that time to being the oldest in just a few years. (When Harold Gilley left and the 2 "Jacks" retired, and Woody retired for a while. Brion left the group in 2002.

  • Is that Brion Carter on Tenor?

  • wow like,it

  • I'll try again - his name wad Harold Gilley.

  • The bass singer's name at that time was Harol Gilley. I had the honor of sharing a stage with guys back in 1997, which I believe was his last year with the group. He had only been with them a few years. The group was formed back around 1947! My group (New Beginning Quartet) does our own version of this song and it's here on Youtube. It was based on how these guys did it. Anyway, great video - thanks for posting it!

  • I think this is their original bass singer. At this time they were one of the greatest quartets.
