Here is a little drive in a real-deal 2x4 4-speed Wildcat, stock 425, T-10 trans, 3.42 positrac, and carbs. It moves pretty good for a 4200lb full size boat (without passengers and so on). The T-10 has a cool whine to it, kind of like an M-21 or M-22. Just a fun drive around the block, with a little gratuitous acceleration.

  • Cool..cool...triple cool...great "boat" you have there....

Incredible shifter with such short throws.

Did Buick use Hurst shifters in your cat?

Can't remember any "old" Hurst's shifting that good n tight

  • @sparkdog44 Yes, it is a factory Hurst Comp Plus. They are very tight shifters for sure, and only came in the 63-64 Wildcat 4-speeds with the long console.

  • Gotta love those big Buick V8

  • Sweet ride. I was raised on the great 50's and '60's cars on Woodward Avenue (Detroit area). Buddy of mine had the '64 Wildcat, 2x4, 4-speed, headers, and it ran pretty darned strong. I have always loved the so-called "odd ball" high-performers like the Buick Wildcat.

  • The Borg-Warner T-10 was one of the smoothest shifting transmission in the 60's. Mopars even had them in 1963.

  • Good driving, respectful shifting, you appreciate the car!

  • That is one priceless Buick. Enjoy it just as it is. You are one very fortunate owner.

The directness of the gearbox is amazing. Glad you posted this video.

  • This is a real NEAT Buick!! And yeah, the Pertronix is one of the best things you can do for these old girls. I put one in my '69 Corvair and it runs a thousand times better. You must have a really rare find here since most of the Wildcats had the SuperTurbine trannny with ps and pb. And I LOVE that convertible styled hardtop roof that all the GM "B" bodies had back then. Enjoy your car, but keep it stock when you restore it :)

  • Hey, what you need are spare taillights, in case the ones you have ever break.

You can get a pair at a current eBay auction. Hurry! See eBay seller BAXTERCO

  • Way cool!

  • freekin awsome

  • I have a 68 gmc with a 17" steering wheel and manual steering. i just turned 24. I have been driving my truck to and from parties for over 2 years. My trucks factory equipment and my driving habits are apparently a major threat to the road, according to terrible discussion on this page, but you know what nobody has been hurt yet not me, the truck, any property or living thing so WHO CARES... the ONLY advantage to power steering is PARKING. I also own an 05 Grand AM GT WHEN U WANT OLD U DRIVE IT
