Graciosa, also known as the white island, is the second smallest of the nine islands of the Azores archipelago in the Atlantic Ocean. Approx. 62 sq.km. it belongs to the central group. It was discovered at about 1450 and the first settler was Vasco Gil Sodre. Sata Air Acores has daily flights & there is also ferry links from Terceira, the neighbouring island. Originally broadcast on the Bom Dia program.

  • i went there this summer and stayed on monta d'ajuda in the chapel of our lady of help which was built in the 1500's. It was literally amazing, and the view was breathtaking. The church was a little haunted though, but I enjoyed that. beautiful island<3
