Too often we see the historic places of Memphis torn down and erased from memory or entombed and displayed as a icon of bygone days.
With the passing of legendary music producer Willie Mitchell in January of 2010 it could be easy to think that the days of Hi-Records, Al Green, and Ann Peebles would be all that could be written for Royal Studios. Not so.
Lawrence "Boo" Mitchell took his father's place at the helm of the vintage MCI Soundboard and is prepared to usher in a new era of Memphis music in the same space that helped give Memphis its status as the storied city of rock, blues, and soul.
