  • These gas pumps were not preformed by puppeteers, they were preformed by professional jingle singers.

  • Right from the hose's mouth!

  • Gonzo did'nt appear until 1970 (he was another character at the time in a Christmas TV special), but became Gonzo in 1975 in the Muppet Show.

Nonetheless, the nozzles in this ad bear a striking, even eerie resemblence to Gonzo.

  • What! No explosions?? If you look closely you can see Gonzo in the face of the nozzle!

  • Gasoline was about 30 cents a gallon in 1963.

  • classy jingle. =]

  • now all the marathon gas has STP pouches on the pump hoses

  • i bet the gas was leaded and cost 5 cents a gallon.. love it

  • That was awesome!
