  • I know this album very well. I learned about music by listening to it constantly. The Electric Flag disbanded after a short while. It later became Loading Zone with Buddy Miles. After influencing the Bay Area, another band sprang up. Tower Of Power. My older brother sat in with Mike Bloomfield on a gig shortly before his death. We were both devastated in a very personal way. Bloomfield and Miles are still to this day,our musical heroes. I'm glad to know that they still have fans here on Youtube.

  • "Overloving You" was a summer hit during 1967.

"Another Country" is another great song. Check out the thick and heavy opening of the song with the Moog Synthesiser. I tried playing this album for a friend and he thought it was old stuff. Some people just don't have the ear for true talent.

The band,Chicago, was a real let down for me after hearing The Flag. The only band that comes close, is Tower Of Power. I could go on and on and on...The Best of The BEST!!!!!!

  • @cicopia1 It is hard to believe, but a reviewer on allmusic, claims that Nick was not a top notch vocalist. I`d say that he is probably the greatest white blues singer ever. Both his and Buddys lead vocals on this album is impossible to match.

  • Barry Goldberg did a great rendition of this tune on his 1968 "Two Jews Blues" album

  • I hear ya acerods, went to the fillmore, occassionaly winterland, almost every sunday nite from 68` thru 70` somethin when howard johnsons was going to buy the building. First saw the flag @ a free concert near fishermans warf in 67` Use to go to the avalon ballroom and longshoremans hall too, maybe burned a few w/u.

  • nice performances...but they could use a producer.

  • Went twice in a row to see the Flag at the Old Fillmore never heard anything like them since. Fannie Mae was fukkin killer!! I miss the old days, Mike, Paul, Buddy, and all the other greats we have lost.

  • one of my favorite albums of all time is Mike Bloomfield's "It's Not Killin Me"

  • I saw the flag three times in the late 60's....GREAT

  • The Sixities, just the best ... wonderful contribution. Thanks, mate.

  • Awesome song BUT - Check out the "previously unissued alternate version" on the "Old Glory"/The Best of The Electric Flag Album/CD. WOW! Slower, Funkier, & OMG! - Listen to this with a Really Good sound system & Turn It Up!!! Michael Bloomfield IS THE SHIT!!!
