I remember getting off the MARTA with my dad that day. I was 16, and going to see Fred McGriff's 1st game with the Braves.
It's kind of funny that "Firedog McGriff" stuck with him throughout the rest of his career.
I'm 33 now, and "Grandpappy" and I are taking my 2-year old son to his 1st Braves game next season.

This was in 1993, I was going to watch the game, between the Braves and Cardinals, when the announcers came on, said there was a fire, and because it destroyed camera equipment, wouldn't be on television. Had to turn on KMOX, and listen, only to read the next day in the St Louis Post-Dispatch that Jack Buck was coughing up black soot!
