obviously it's not a true story, Ed Gein didn't fuckin run round with a nuts redneck family chainsawing people. half the late 70's & 80's Slasher movies pretend they're based on a true story to draw audiences in. Ed Gein was real, yes, but the fact that he decorated his house with body parts and robbed graves is the only real similarity between him and the film.

this special effect sounds like a armonica or like a cornet ..... appears in the TCM 2003 and 2006 versions.. but was idea original of the theme 1974 Hooper and Bell .. you can hear it in the end credit music...

@letdowncrush2 : Dude it really happened man the guy actually ate people and use their skin mainly female skin as clothing. The movie is based off true events but the title hints that it's at texas but really it happened in plainsfield Wisconsin. The movie was shot in texas. So the location was off. Some parts of course was exaggerated. Yet, that footage they showed at the start or at the end was real.
