apart from having to say that I DO love Michael Stipe in a white suit - this, for me, is one of the most beautiful REM songs ever. I love it and you know, my 2 sons (7 and 10) already love it as much as I do! My work is done.

When this song came out I was in love with someone who was falling out of love with me. The song gave me hope that my love story would continue. When it didn't the song gave me comfort and later it gave me the strength to move on. Now it reminds me of a unique time in my life. thanks for posting...truly amazingly heart-rending lyrics
