SNES Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble!

The last of the Donkey Kong Country trilogy for the SNES then replaced Diddy with Kiddy Kong. However this was much more then just an upgraded version of the previous titles.

Dixie's Double Trouble introduced much more diversion then just going from level to level, like exploring and looking for items that would unlock things and help you progress in the game,making the game much more open ended.

A really good conclusion, and one of the last tiles to hit the SNES before its official demise. But lets face it, SNES lives forever.

back then when games ACTUALLY required you to think hard and you needed skill, unlike today (except maybe for silent hill 1-3, those were masterpieces)
